Since opening in Ikoyi in 2011, it has earned a devoted following among Lagos's culinary community, expatriate community, visiting food writers, and a growing international audience who seek it out as a bucket-list destination.</p><p>The restaurant's philosophy is beautifully simple: take Nigeria's extraordinary culinary heritage — one of the most diverse and complex in the world, spanning 250 ethnic groups and countless regional traditions — and present it with the same care, technique, and beauty as any Michelin-starred kitchen in Paris or Tokyo. No shortcuts, no compromises, no westernisation: just exceptional Nigerian food, done properly.</p><p>The menu changes seasonally and showcases both the familiar and the obscure. Guests might encounter a perfectly rendered boli (roasted plantain) with ofe akwu dipping sauce, a Nollywood-era oxtail pepper soup whose layered spice complexity unfolds over forty minutes, or a dessert of tuwo shinkafa (rice pudding) with tamarind caramel and dehydrated suya-spiced peanuts. Signature dishes include the Yellow Chilli Crab (mangrove crab in a tomato-and-uziza base), the jollof rice tasting trilogy (Lagos, Abuja, and Jos-style), and the full Nigerian breakfast platter that has won its own media fanbase.</p><p>The space seats 80 inside and 40 on the garden terrace, decorated with contemporary Yoruba woven cloth and modern Nigerian paintings.
